'Green' Goodies for Your St. Patty's Day Feast

Like shamrocks and leprechauns, feasting and merriment have always been part of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Families throughout the Emerald Isle traditionally spent the afternoon of March 17 feasting, drinking, and dancing in honor of St. Patrick, Ireland’s patron saint.

Today, rivers run green, parades fill the streets, and potatoes are the thing to eat as people all over the world celebrate Irish heritage and culture on St. Patrick’s Day—whether or not they can truthfully wear a “Kiss me—I’m Irish” button.

However you plan to celebrate St. Patty’s Day, our collection of traditional Irish dishes, such as “Steak” and Stout Pie, Colcannon, and Irish Coffee—all of them meat-, egg-, and dairy-free, of course—will have Irish (and non-Irish) eyes a-smiling.
