Candle Café

Dining Out: Candle Café
1307 Third Ave. at 75th St.
New York, NY 10021

CandleCafé.com

Candle Café received some hefty recommendations from PETA supporter and swooned-over actor Casey Affleck whose recent films include Ocean’s Eleven and American Pie 2; and Saturday Night Live alumnus Kevin Nealon, a wonderfully outspoken advocate for the animals, who gushed:
"Candle Café is my favorite restaurant, bar none! I'm nuts for their seitan which would transform any meat lover into a happy vegan. I have been known to eat an entire platter of their chocolate chip cookies in one sitting! They're the only vegan cookie I know of that tastes EXACTLY like a chocolate chip cookie like Mom used to bake!! Bravo Joy and Bart!"
Candle Café has been praised as everything from “one of the best vegetarian restaurants you’ll ever go to, anywhere” by Satya Magazine to a “vegetarian mecca” by Allure magazine. It has also made Natural Living’s list of “Best Vegetarian Restaurants in the USA.”

Philosophy

We at the Candle Café are dedicated to your health through our commitment to excellent vegetarian cuisine. Our inspired creations are composed of a seasonal array of organic ingredients. This means that the food is grown without the use of pesticides and other chemicals that have debilitating consequences for both our farmlands and our health. By supporting organic farming and avoiding animal products, we acknowledge the interconnectedness of environmental, spiritual, and physical well-being. We are delighted to nourish your body with delicious meals served in a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. We invite you to enjoy the good foods that come fresh from the farm to your table.
