Like a restaurant that will serve you delicious vegan house specialties with a side of fresh hip-hop- and jazz-infused house music? Then Vegetate, a stylish vegetarian restaurant (with plenty of vegan options) that mixes fine-dining fare with music and art to create a warm and inviting restaurant with exceptional food and atmosphere, is just for you. Opened in October of last year by married couple Jennifer Graham Redd and Dominic Redd, Vegetate—which Dominic describes as a "modern, urban vegetarian restaurant"—has become a hot spot for vegans and meat-eaters alike.

Boasting a creative and innovative menu that changes as often as the seasons do, all Vegetate's exquisite dishes and sauces are made in-house with the freshest local ingredients available. Must-have main dishes include a jerked tempeh with kale-and-mango relish and a sesame-encrusted tofu with bok choy and eggplant. Other popular vegan dishes include the grilled romaine Caesar, the corn grit-and-lima bean tart, the spinach lasagna with eggplant and nut cheese, and the Vegetate burgers, served with pomme frites and rhubarb ketchup. Scrumptious sides that shouldn't be, well, left on the side, are roasted turnips, squash gratin, pickled kohlrabi-and-radish salad, and Brussels sprouts with pickled ginger.

From your table in the inviting and relaxing dining room to the turntable in the lively lounge area, Vegetate is sure to satisfy your appetite for delicious vegetarian cuisine, interesting art, and fun music.
