Vegetarian Times magazine included The Vegetable Garden in Rockville, Md., on its list of the top 31 vegetarian restaurants in the country—and PETA Eats reviewers are raving about it, too!

Says Lauren Silverman, “The Vegetable Garden is by far my favorite vegetarian restaurant on Earth! The entire menu is all vegan and absolutely scrumptious. The sesame ‘chicken’ and orange ‘beef’ are mouth-watering, and the cilantro rolls appetizer is addicting. They even have yummy veggie desserts and a lunch special list that will knock your socks off. You can’t go wrong ordering anything on the menu. Bring your nonveggie friends, and they will convert instantly!”

Theresa Lopez adds, “They make the most incredible dishes using meat substitutes. The best dish is the ‘beef’ with pecans. The service and atmosphere are also really great. This place is the best!”

The only thing our reviewers can’t agree on is their favorite dish. Vegetable Garden regular Maru Angarita says that her favorites are “the vegetable dumplings, spring rolls, and yellow ‘bird,’ and for dessert, the tofu key lime pie.”

Philosophy

Our restaurant is not just another ordinary restaurant: We specialize in vegan, organic, and macrobiotic cuisine.

According to the American Heart Association, a diet that is high in saturated fats and cholesterol contributes to the development of heart disease and cancer. Following their recommendations, we have carefully selected a wide range of dishes cooked in minimal amounts of soybean oil and olive oil, which are low in saturated fat. All of our dishes are prepared without MSG, dairy products, eggs, or refined sugar. We also use healthy, unprocessed natural brown rice.

We hope you will consider our unique cuisine as a delicious start to a healthier lifestyle.
