After a long day at the office, who doesn’t long for a hearty meal that can be tossed together in a matter of minutes? Time-starved cooks of the world, have we got a stick-to-the-ribs answer for you. Actually, we have two answers—two brand-new “Meal Starters” from Morningstar Farms: “Steak Strips” and “Chik’n Strips.” You can find them at your local Wal-Mart, Food Lion, or other supermarket. If they haven’t arrived in your town yet, don’t despair—they should be showing up soon in a grocer’s freezer near you.

Precooked and lightly seasoned, these all-vegan meal starters shave precious moments off prep time and can be used in virtually any dish, from fajitas and stir-fries to hearty “manwiches,” stews, and casseroles. The mild Italian-style seasoning blends well with any culinary journey that you want to embark on, from Asian sweet-and-sour to Eastern curry to spicy “buffalo” sauce. Or you can stay right at home and give the strips a quick sauté in a frying pan or bread them and fry them to turn any wrap, pasta dish, or salad into a meal.

Not only do Meal Starters save time and taste great, they’re also good for you too! The Steak Strips are loaded with protein and contain 37 percent less fat than sirloin steak. The Chik’n Strips are every bit as flavorful as the real thing and are 100 percent cholesterol-free.
