1. Yves
Good Dog
Yves wins the Golden Bun for the varieties of taste and texture offered in its
products—whether you’re looking for a hearty hot dog or something
on the lighter side, you’re sure to find it with Yves. Of its four flavors,
the Good
Dog made our mouths water the most. When you want to add chili, don’t
forget the Hot
and Spicy Veggie Chili Dogs, which are widely available and are the best
grilling and pan-frying veggie dogs out there—their ability to crisp up
can’t be beat!
2. Lightlife
Smart Dogs and Tofu
Pups
It was a close race with Yves, but Lightlife takes second place. The Lightlife
dogs are tastiest when boiled or microwaved, and they’re especially yummy
when topped with chili and chopped onions. Our judges preferred the Tofu Pups
to the Smart Dogs.
3. Worthington
Big Franks
Worthington Big Franks are the “beefiest” and best-tasting vegetarian
hot dogs on the market, but they are not widely available. If you can find
them, try them boiled—you won’t be disappointed!
